Bia I Cake Women's Cooperative
We are a group of passionate and dedicated women from Nagigi, Cakaudrove, Fiji, who came together during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our journey began with a shared vision of empowering each other and creating sustainable livelihoods for our families and community.In the true spirit of solesolevaki—our traditional practice of working together for the common good—we pooled our strengths, skills, and resources to form this cooperative. Each of us brings unique talents and stories, bound by a collective dream of fostering economic independence and community development.
Our cooperative is more than just a means to earn a living; it is a testament to our resilience, unity, and determination. Through various income-generating projects, from aquaculture to coconut processing, we strive to create opportunities that benefit not only us but also future generations. Every project we undertake is a step toward a brighter, self-sufficient future for our community.

Our Women
Building our Coorporative
Our cooperative is made up of dedicated women who come together under the traditional Fijian practice of solesolevaki (coming together for the common good). These women are mothers, entrepreneurs, and community leaders who work tirelessly to support their families and contribute to the growth of their community
Our Projects
We have successfully implemented several projects, including an aquaculture project where we created a 600 sqm fishpond and installed a water piping system. We also focus on coconut processing and other sustainable agricultural practices to ensure long-term benefits for our community
Our Achievements
Since our inception, we have achieved significant milestones, such as securing grants from the United Nations Development Programme and the Market Development Facility. Our projects have provided sustainable livelihoods for our members and contributed to the overall well-being of our community.
